EVERY/ATKINS
published by Pat Hase - 7 years 4 months 28 days ago.

Your title was correct but in your query you say that your great grandmother's maiden name was ATKINSON.  I think you will find that it was ATKINS.  She was born probably in Weston in 1884 and appears on the 1891 census living with her parents Robert ATKINS from Minehead who was a gardner and mother Emma who came from Stathe in Somerset.

Robert & Emma ATKINS had several children christened at Emmanuel Church - which you can see on our site if you are a full member.  They lived in Maine Square (where Dophin Square was).

Am a little puzzled because according to the GRO index Olive's mother's maiden name was BULL but the older children have GOULD as m.m.name and there is a marriage in Bristol in 1868 of a Robert ATKINS and an Emma GOULD - Can anyone offer an explanation?

According to the Weston Mercury in 1889 Robert ATKINS was fined 1/- for not sending his children to school.

Olive ATKINS was in service in Walliscote Road in 1901 and as you probably know in 1911 was in South Wales, married and a nurse.  She died in 1923 in Weston and is buried in Weston Cemetery.

John & Elizabeth JAMES of Kingston Seymour

Have you tried the Kingston Seymour History Group ?   Although not primarily a Family History Group some one may know something about the JAMES family.

It looks as if Elizabeth died shortly after Thomas was born - do you know what happened to the children?  Did John marry again?

Haven't located a marriage for them yet but it is possible that John & Elizabeth might have married in Bristol - many people from North Somerset were married there.

ISGAR and ESGAR from East Brent
published by Pat Hase - 7 years 5 months 2 days ago.

I did reply to your email address but got no reply so let's see what happens when we keep it on the web page.  You will see from the reply from  John Rigarlsford last August that he has a very comprehensve tree of East Brent Residents which by the way includes sources so is worth looking at.

I still haven't found a marriage for Robert ESGAR/ISGAR and Jane.  My husband is descended from their daughter Mary who married John EDWARDS in 1782 in East Brent.

I believe that Robert ESGAR/ISGAR was the son of a William ISGAR and a Mary EDWARDS who were married at Cossington in 1716. You can follow this family on The East Brent site of John Rigarlsford - link above.

Pat: I replied to your comment of Feb. 8,2017 but apparently I do not know the proper way! Also I answered several other persons comments , but no answer. I am very much interested in following my tree. Please advise the right way. Thanks for your guidance. Ken Esgar . I would give my e-mail, not sure it is allowed.
