Broadbear ancesters
published by - 8 years 11 months 5 days ago.
Hello, my wife is related to Japheth Broadbear, born in Churchill. Can you help please? I believe there are connections with Puxton, but not sure. Possibly a shoe maker in Axbridge as well. I notice there are a few graves at the Worle cemetery. Thanks, William and Carole

Lovely picture Bill!  - Derrick, you might try Peter Davey in Bristol who has done extensive research about Trams both in Bristol but also in Weston.  He has pubished many books about his findings and can be contacted here

Good Samaritan Relief at the Old Hospital
published by Pat Hase - 8 years 11 months 7 days ago.

Inital inquiries have established that the Good Samaritan was already very worn before it was taken down from the Alfred Street part of the original hospital when the building was re-developed into housing.  Rumour has it that it was damaged beyond repair and could not be re-sited - will need to check on this - Can anyone add to this answer?   I seem to remember it at the entrance to what was then the Accident and Emergency Dept - can anyone confirm?   Does anyone have a photo of that part of the Hospital before it was converted?
