Hicks/Sprod published by rachel-kew - 8 years 3 months 0 day ago. | | Sarah Bartlett Hicks (nee Fear) is my great-great grandmother, Her daughter Euphemia (my great grandmother) married Samuel Dyer of Kenn.
I am having trouble finding where Sarah is buried! After her second husband, Thomas Sprod, died she lived in Clevedon, which is where she is on the 1891 census. She died later that year but I haven't found a burial for her. Any help would be much appreciated. | |

SPROD Family published by Pat Hase - 8 years 3 months 3 days ago. | | Looking at the 1851 census it looks as if Thomas SPROD was born in Nempnett Thrubwell. There are SPROD baptisms at Nempnett Thrumbwell included in our transcriptions. The date given for the baptism of Thomas SPROD doen't quite tally with the age given on the census but is worth investigating.

SPROD Family published by - 8 years 3 months 3 days ago. | | Mary Ann SPROD (1841) married Edward WILLETT at Banwell. I have her parents as Thomas SPROD and Sarah TANNER who were married on 9.5.1829 at Congresbury. Sarah Jane SPROD and Mary Ann SPROD would appear to be sisters.
Where and when Thomas SPROD was baptised, and the name of his parrents are not known.

Sarah Ann THOMAS born about 1846 published by Pat Hase - 8 years 3 months 3 days ago. | | Using the new GRO index you can find the maiden name of Ann when the birth of Sarah Ann was registered. (Yatton was in the Registration district of Bedminster). Ann's maiden name appears to be CRUSE but they were married before civil registration started.
FreeREG gives a marriage of a George THOMAS to an Ann CRUSE at St Swithin's Church, Walcot, Bath on the 26th Oct 1834. You can see the image of this Somerset marriage on Ancestry but no further details are given of this couple.
On the 1841 census George THOMAS says he was born in Somerset but Ann is not born in Somerset. However, they are living with another Ann Thomas, aged 75, who might be George's mother (or elder sister?) who was also born in Somerset. This would infer that it was later that the family moved to South Wales.
Hope this helps a little.
