CommentsMogul Burials published by - 7 years 10 months 2 days ago. | | Hi Pat you are a mind of information thank you for that I haven't found Jane's birth certificate yet. Thank you also for the heads up on the Mogul burials. Jane Mogul eventually married a Frederick Laver and lived until 1947. Her sister, Mary Ann Kate Rose Mogul is my 2nd great grandmother. I discovered that John Mogul is also in the press but I haven't had time to look. I think Jane was the subject of this - child neglect. She ends up in an Industrial Home in Coventry in 1891. All very tragic and upsetting but very interesting reading. I think that anything on Mogul is to do with them. Thank you for all your help.

The Barons of Weston Super Mare published by - 7 years 10 months 2 days ago. | | How wonderful to receive your reply Pat!! I really appreciate you letting me know where the family are all buried! I am not a full member of the Society as I live in NZ and would not be able to attend meetings etc. But I will look up the costs and consider this option as I have been so keen to see where they are all buried.
Thanks so very much for this brand new information and all your other very helpful tips. I am off on another learning adventure!
Regards

Rev John BARON published by Pat Hase - 7 years 10 months 3 days ago. | | I can see from our Cemetery records that both the Rev John BARON and his wife were buried in Weston Cemetery. More details available if you are a full member of our Society. It aso appears that his eldest son who died shortly after his father was buried at East Brent and another son is in Weston Cemetery.
I can see from the censuses that in 1841 he and his family were in Cheltenham and in 1851 they were in Bristol. If you have a subscription to FindmyPast or the British Newspaper Archives you might find some more information about him in those places. You might also try the National Archives Discovery catalogue which would list any items about him in the National Archives and/or in County Archives such as Merseyside, Bristol, Somerset or Gloucestershire

LAWRENCE Family and Laura Buildings published by Pat Hase - 7 years 10 months 3 days ago. | | On the 1851 census near to their entry are several mentions of Wilcox Cottages - They later became known as Wilcox Place and were very near to Laura Buildings. This Map available free from the National Library of Scotland shows the area very clearly in 1886 but although there would have been fewer buildings in 1851 you can see where your family must have been.
I think you can find the burial of a John LAWRENCE under our transcriptions of the Burials at Emmanuel Church which may help your research - it looks as if Mary might be there as well.

lawrence family published by janetp - 7 years 10 months 3 days ago. | | Thanks so much for the prompt reply and info that I didnt have about where Bazaar Buildings were and also the tythe map. I realise I mistyped the census date. I have John Lawrence as a widower with his three sisters in 1851, back Regent St. I cannot identify the death of wife Mary as there are a couple of possibilities. Also I assume John died before the 1861 census - I can't find him but I do have the census entries for all his children and grandchildren. Again several possibilities for his death. I originally identified John and Mary as the correct family by their grandson George, in 1841. By 1851 he is back with his parents in Keinton Mandeville.

LAWRENCE Family and Laura Buildings published by Pat Hase - 7 years 10 months 3 days ago. | | Looking at the 1841 census for Weston, John LAWRENCE and family are certainly living at Bazaar Buildings which is entered with Worthy Place addresses on either side. Worthy Place runs parallel to and north of what is now Waterloo Street . However on the Tythe Map of Weston of 1837, which is available online on The Genealogist site, a John LAWRENCE is the occupier of a building which appears to be in the High Street not far from where the London Inn now is. Worthy Place would have been roughly behind there.
I can't seem to locate the family on the 1861 census - but by then there were several little alleys which ran behind Regent Street and might have been referred to as "Back" of Regent Street. Laura Buildings is named on that census so it isn't there. What were the names of the LAWRENCE family in 1861?
