Rev John Baron
published by on Sat, 29/07/2017 - 9:08
A direct line ancestor lived in Weston super Mare at the time of his death in 1867. I was hoping for some information about John Baron and his wife Anna Maria Baron, that anyone local might have?
Rev John Baron was the Vicar of Walsall until 1837 when he left due to ill health. In 1861 the family lived in Clifton, Bristol.
I am very interested in what John Baron did for the 30 years after his work as Vicar of Walsall until his death at Weston super Mare in early 1867.

Any helpful leads would be gratefully received.

I can see from our Cemetery records that both the Rev John BARON and his wife were buried in Weston Cemetery.  More details available if you are a full member of our Society.  It aso appears that his eldest son who died shortly after his father was buried at East Brent and another son is in Weston Cemetery.

I can see from the censuses that in 1841 he and his family were in Cheltenham and in 1851 they were in Bristol.  If you have a subscription to FindmyPast or the British Newspaper Archives you might find some more information about him in those places. You might also try the National Archives Discovery catalogue which would list any items about him in the National Archives and/or in County Archives such as Merseyside, Bristol, Somerset or Gloucestershire

How wonderful to receive your reply Pat!! I really appreciate you letting me know where the family are all buried! I am not a full member of the Society as I live in NZ and would not be able to attend meetings etc. But I will look up the costs and consider this option as I have been so keen to see where they are all buried.
Thanks so very much for this brand new information and all your other very helpful tips. I am off on another learning adventure!
