CommentsSarah IRVINE - 3rd G/Grandmother published by Pat Hase - 5 years 1 months 5 days ago. | | Welcome to the Society Louisa! - hopefully we shall see you at meetings when this is all over. In the meantime, Glad to see that you are getting help both on this web site and from the Facebook Group! As Dave said, Sarah didn't seen to know where she came from but it does settle with Belfast which will be difficult to follow up. Have you found any of the BROWN family in 1901 yet? You might find Sarah's death by following up her children.
James Edward BROWN was born in Mells in Somerset in 1847 and was christened there 16 May 1847 s/o James & Ann BROWN. You can find this and the marriage of his parents James BROWN and Ann HORLER in Mells by using FreeREG. They seem to have moved to London around 1850. James Edward is with his grandparents in Mells in 1851 while his parents and the rest of his siblings are already in St Pancras.
Sarah IRVINE - 3rd G/Grandmother published by daveerasmus - 5 years 1 months 6 days ago. | | Was your James Edward BROWN born in Frome, Somerset? Did they also have children James c1868 and William c1871? If so, then at the time of the 1871 census the family was living in Charles Street, St Pancras, London. Her age was given as 26 and her place of birth as Glasgow, Scotland. At the time of the 1881 census there were 2 more children: Amelia c1876 and John c1879. The family was living in Boundary Mews, St Johns Hampstead, London. Sarah's age was given as 34 and the place of birth as Belfast, Ireland.

Day published by - 5 years 1 months 11 days ago. | | Hi Bill, great to hear from you and thanks for the welcome. Elizabeth Day (my great x2 grandmother) had 7 siblings all born in Worle so I expect that the Days from the area are all connected in some way. I haven't come across the names of your ancestors but will let you know if I see anything further. Interesting that you are connected to both DAY and URCH as well. Best wishes, Emily

Day published by - 5 years 1 months 12 days ago. | | Hi. I have found out that I am a descendent of the DAY family and have details of three generations that lived in Worle and Kewstoke. The details only go as far back as Job West Day and Elizabeth (Betty) Day. My ancestors following them are Henry DAY (born 1812) and Amelia DAY (born 1811 nee URCH); then Elizabeth DAY (born 1834 to 1840) who married George ELTON. Happy to provide more details if you would like to get in touch, I realise your post was from some years ago. Best wishes, Emily
