It seems that Arthur was once a teacher at Connaught Road Junior Boys' School in Knowle West Bristol, from a report on page 20 of the 10 June 1939 edition of the Bristol Evening Post. Arthur was a lay preacher (possibly Baptist) and Fanny would accompany him to various meetings and sing as a soloist (see report below).

I think this funeral announcement is their daughter. Irene was apparently a founding member of CAMRA, and her husband, Francis William "Bill", was chairman of CAMRA in Cornwall. Their son, Donald Arthur Edwin, and his second wife, Pauline Mary Clare, née Kingston, lived a few doors down at 41, Station Road, until their respective deaths.

Fanny died just when there is a dearth of information, that is, the Somerset newspapers for that period have not yet been transcribed and made available online. Thanks to Graham's transcripts, we know that Fanny and Arthur are interred together at Milton Road cemetery (Grave T 206)

Blagdon Bright Hour. Mrs Gooding presided over the weekly meeting of Blagdon Women's Bright Hour, at which 53 members were present, and also led in prayer.  The speaker, Mr. Ackland (Weston-Super-Mare) was no stranger to the meeting, and expressed his pleasure at seeing such a large, happy, gathering. Mr. Ackland read the scripture from Mark Chapter 9 Verse 14, following which his wife sang a solo "Somebody knows". Mr. Ackland then went on to enlarge on his reading, stressing the need for faith and prayer in daily living.
