Glad to be of help - As Brown Bros Cafe in the High Street features in the lives of so many older Westonians I'm sure we can help further when we are in the Library on Saturday - the Street directories may be able to clarify the situation. Local newspapers (on film in the Library) which are not yet online may also be of help if (as I suspect) this is the same family.

Taking your last question first.  Looking at the house names given on the 1901census and comparing them with the house names of Grove Park Road in a later street directory it would appear that Brantholme was at No 8 and was renamed Endellion.

I have a copy of the 1917 Street Directory and the BROWN family were not at 8, Trwartha Park nor 31 Trewartha Park when that was compiled (probably in 1916).  However, Wilfred M BROWN was at No 15 Trewartha Park.

GLOSSOP

There was a Sinclair Leslie GLOSSOP born 21st May 1902 in Weston-s-Mare could this be your grandfather? his father was Joseph Burdett GLOSSOP. If you are a full member of the society you will have full accsess to our transcriptions which shows a number of GLOSSOP's in the Emanuel Church including the baptism of Sinclair.

Censuses are great for family

Censuses are great for family history. As your grandad was born around 1901-02 I would try the 1911 one. Family Search has a census record of them, just fill in what you know & tick the right boxes: https://familysearch.org/search/ Would he have been Sinclair Glossop? I found that him & an Ina Evelyn Glossop registered in Axbridge district using http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl Nathan
