CommentsDay published by - 5 years 2 months 21 days ago. | | Hi. I have found out that I am a descendent of the DAY family and have details of three generations that lived in Worle and Kewstoke. The details only go as far back as Job West Day and Elizabeth (Betty) Day. My ancestors following them are Henry DAY (born 1812) and Amelia DAY (born 1811 nee URCH); then Elizabeth DAY (born 1834 to 1840) who married George ELTON. Happy to provide more details if you would like to get in touch, I realise your post was from some years ago. Best wishes, Emily

Schools in Weston super Mare published by Pat Hase - 5 years 2 months 25 days ago. | | As your FEAR family were living in Southend Road there are a several possible schools. Southend Road would have been in the parish of Uphill and so Uphill C of E Primary School might have been used or the Primary School in Carlton Road - part of the Walliscote Rd School. Later, for secondary education they might have attended Walliscote Boys' School or Locking Road Girls' School. There was also the County School in Broadoak Road which later became the Weston Grammar School.
Perhaps someone who went to school in Weston can correct me on this one!
The picture is of Walliscote Primary School.

April 2020 Update published by Pat Hase - 5 years 2 months 27 days ago. | | This arrived just too late for the Update but look out for these records being available.
From the National Archives
"We’re pleased to confirm that we will be giving everyone free access to our digitised collections very soon, but it’s taking our amazing digital team a bit of time to make it happen.
They’re facing similar challenges to the rest of the world with regard to connecting to our various technical systems while working from home, and many of them are also juggling childcare duties. Stay tuned for an update soon!
EDIT: To clarify, we’re referring to digitised collections that are available on our website (and usually chargeable) – at this stage, this doesn’t extend to our collections on other sites."
