Have you tried JERVIS and East Brent for a baptism?  Who were Ann's parents?  Could Emily have been christened as a child of theirs - perhaps with a different first name.

Thanks Pat. It was the late 1800’s so no.2 was by the pub at the far end of the terrace.

Thanks again

Eddie

It will depend upon when they were there - in 1875 No 2 would have been near Alfred Street but after the numbers changed in 1908 it was numbered the other way and No 2 was at the other end, next to the Railway Hotel Stables

Hi,

Just been reading in the newsletter about the Spread Eagle and Anstice Terrace. One of my ancestors lived at 2 Anstice Terrace but I have never been able to find out which way the numbering went.

any ideas would be helpful. Many thanks.

I think so too, Jenny.  I had noticed the 20 Questions article but after seeing it here, I decided to use the questions for my own 'morning journalling' this coming month. Thanks for jogging my brain. I may share a couple of the answers, but one question I won't answer :-)

Thank you Richard,
That's helpful - Now that I know the road - I know that Thomas BARRY was the Gate Keeper at the Kewstoke Lodge but am now trying to find any reference to a John HARRIS who might have ben based at the Weston end of the road about 1851.
