On the 1939 Register there are no relationships so you cannot assume that Edwin and Ethel were her parents.

She's on the 1921 census as Peggy Edith NORRISH-CHANIN in the Axbridge District.  It would be worth purchasing that to find out more.

I think her parents were possibly this couple.marriage certificate

This looks like her birth in 1921 in Brentford but there is a death of an Edith CHANIN in the same quarter so perhaps her mother died when she was born and she was informally adopted by her Aunt Ethel, who married Edwin STONE in 1922

Let us know if you find the BROWN connection!  Good Luck

Comment 16/8/22. I was intrigued to see the name ‘Rosamund Waite’ listed here (my older sister, who would have been about 6 in 1956). I told her and she says she has no memory or knowledge of a Wyncroft school at all, so it’s a mystery. We did both attend Kendale private school in about 1958. Best wishes Monica Collier (neé Waite).

Postscript 22/8/22. While doubt remains about whether Rosamund and Ann attended Wyncroft school together in 1956, it turns out that we did all share the same music teacher (Miss M A Smith in Moorland Road) - and that Ros and Ann, together with a Julia Robinson, won a piano trio competition together at Highbridge Music Festival in May 1963. Lovely to revive old memories. Monica.

That's fantastic, Graham, thank you. - Nearly all the STOKES mentioned are related to me and I have been able to build up their families. It is so helpful when the MIs mention family members who died elsewhere and even the last words of my great great grandmother!

Now that is an unfortunate typo, Paul - martriages (from martyr?)
