Hello Pat

My Grandfather - Stanley Follot Hook - has a War Grave in Milton Cemetery. He was Quartermaster Colour Sergeant with the Home Guard in Weston and was a fatality of the WW11 Blitz. He died on 1st July 1942 from injuries received on 30th June 1942.  He was a survivor from the Gallipoli campaign in Suvla Bay during WW1.

Thank you

Ann Baxter

Many thanks, Pat, for another splendid newsletter.

Your example of all the different records one can access when researching the inhabitants of one street just highlights the variety of records that are available to us all.

How interesting for people today to read the beautifully written remarks about Hannah Moore on her burial record...just goes to show that we should examine every original document that we can find about our ancestors.

Brian Austin

I was very shocked to hear the news of Brian Austin's passing which I found via Pat's posting on Facebook.  I had attended his very last talk at the Museum on the Thursday and I commented that he was on good form, giving an interesting and amusing talk as usual.  He will, indeed, be sorely missed.
