A Bertram Edward James COTTLE was baptised in Walcot St Swithin, Somerset on 20 July 1902. His parents were Edward and Mary. Looks like he married Valerie W Mctoldridge in Ealing in 1953. His death was registered in Tonbridge, Kent in 1974. According to the 1911 census his father was a Police Constable. I'm afraid I haven't found any information about his occupation.

Do you please have any information about Bertram E J (or maybe E F) Cottle?

I have a photograph album that belonged to my mother which contains the dedication "With Best Wishes from Bertram E J Cottle". It contains mostly pictures taken in Weston around the mid 1920s, showing my mother's family of Ritchie and Pettie, and unidentified relatives or friends. My mother, Catherine Mary Meddleton, was a small girl at the time of the photos, born in 1923 in Weston.

I'd be happy to give you a link to the photos online, if of interest.

Thanks for your help.

Glad to have been of help. I have a copy of a Weston-super-Mare Directory 1921-22 which has a section which lists villa and house names with their addresses. Later Directories do not have this useful bit.

From the many details of the stonework it is without a doubt 9 Jubilee Road. Thank you so much for your reply. May I ask how you gained that information about house names; is there a specific source for that?

You asked about St Kilda. In 1922 there were 4 houses with that name in Weston - at 20 Brighton Road, Furland Road, 9 Jubilee Road and at 27 Moorland Road. Perhaps Street view will enable you to see which one (if any) matches your photo.
