Jean Lewis - Cleveland Hotel WSM 1951
published by on Sat, 06/05/2017 - 17:37
Hi Jean Lewis was my mother and I am researching her early life from 1950 until 1958. I believe she may have moved to the South Coast soon after the fire. Can anyone give me any more information on this?

published by on Wed, 26/04/2017 - 18:54
Ann Radford married Joseph Parker in 1848 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. On the marriage record it states " daughter of the late John Radford of Somerset ". Ann Radford had a daughter Sarah Ann Radford baptized in Wedmore 14 March 1844 when Ann was working for Jeremiah Gibbs. Searching for the parents of Ann Radford.

I am unable to open the transcript. Is anyone else having a problem? Or is there a tip to open it? Have many ancestors buried there.

Is this Cllr Mrs Mary Joyce Grey presenting an award?
published by on Fri, 14/04/2017 - 10:21
Hi thanks for the reply - this fits with my dates. Sorry my picture did not seem to appear. I will try again. Please see this pic - do you think this is Cllr Mrs Mary Joyce Grey ? If it is, do you think there would be a record of what the event is ?

I am particularly interested to know what is happening in this picture which was taken between 1948 and 1962 (NFS on the badges of the jackets is Nation Fire Service which ran between 48-62). It looks like a lady mayor presenting an award. These are firemen. NFS17 is "Bristol " area. My gramps is in the pic so we know it is Weston.

Surname Larkkom and infinite variations there of!
published by on Thu, 13/04/2017 - 12:42
I'm trying to locate the parents of Thomas Larkham born 1804 • Somerset, England DEATH 1854 • in Somerset, Gloucestershire, England, married in 1835 to Eleanor Thomasborn 1807 • Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.

This bloke is my 3rd great-grandfather and I can't for the life of me find a link to his parents. Name spelt Larkkon-Larkkom-Larkon-Larkham-Larken and anything else you might imagine. I'm pretty sure he will be a Gloustershire lad but I'm d888eed if I can pin him down. If anyone has encountered the name I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

PS I should have said I was referred here by a rootschat user, and have my tree on Ancestry.
