On Christmas Day in 1852 Mary Ann HASE married John William HARDIGE in Compton Bishop - is he one of yours?  They went to Australia.

My 4xGF Henry Hardige, born in Compton Bishop circa 1793, and Elizabeth had at least three children. The eldest was Amery, my 3xGF, born 1827 in Cheddar. The second was a John. Could this be your ancestor? If so any additional information would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Alan

If your Henry HARDIGE was christened in Compton Bishop in 1792, s/o James & Ann then I'm sure that there is a family connection.  Go through the baptisms in Compton Bishop on our site for all the variations of the name (and there are a lot!) to sort them out.  I'm sure that one of our members, Margaret Jordan, would be able to help you.  You can email her here.  Margaret has extensive knowledge of Compton Bishop and is always willing to help.

Many thanks Caz. I look forward to receiving the results of your research. John was my Grandmother, Emily Hardige's father. Her sister Lily married Oliver White - I'm sure you know this.

Good to see your comment.   Is this correct?   Elsie Sarah Hase HARDIDGE was born in about 1909 in Doncaster, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of John HARDIDGE and Mary BROWN.  Her father, John HARDIDGE was born in 1862, the son of John William HARDIDGE and Mary Anne HASE who were married on Christmas Day 1852 in Compton Bishop, Somerset.

Mary Anne HASE was a younger sister of my husband's great grandfather, Henry HASE - which means that you  share common ancestors of  great great grandparents - William HASE and Rebecca Parfrey MILLARD - making you and Mike  (I think) third cousins!

Thanks for your comments. My mother was born in 1905 but all the rest of your notes are as I have it. so I must be related to Mike most likely third cousin ( i get a bit confused about relationships). Can you please tell me the name of Mikes father. It looks like you have a good grip on my side of the family but if there are any gaps i might be able to help you with please let me know
