You didn't mention any dates for this family but I see from theShepton Mallet Journal of Friday 28 October 1864 that this marriage took place;

MARRIAGES

Oct 25, at St. Peter’s Church, Draycott, by the Rev. W. B. Caparn, assisted the Rev. G. G. Beadon, rector, of Axbridge, Thomas, youngest son of the late Mr. T. Bull, of Axbridge, to Mary, only daughter of the late Mr. W. Star, of Elmhay, Draycott aforesaid

Have you sent a message to the person who posted their Surname Interests to include STAR(R)?  if you click on the name "bevercombe" on this page and then the button "Contact" you can send an email directly to them.

Thank you so much for the marriage details of Mary Star and Thomas Bull.  I think Mary Star would have been  the daughter of William, my great-great grandfather's, George, brother.

As far as I know the Star family lived in Draycott or the district for 200 years or more till some time in the 1960s.

Hi Mendip
Our great great grandfather William Thomas Star born 1859, Draycott. He was the son of George Star, migrated to Australia 1880. He married here in Australia to Susan McTague, and had 10 children. The eldest of which George Herbert Patrick Star was my great grandfather. He went on to have 2 children, Dorothy Patricia and William Thomas (my grandfather). Would love to correspond and share information.

Kind regards
Wendy

WendyD hi! My grandfather was Frederick Star whose brother was George, your great grandfather? They are buried at Rookwood Cemetery opposite each other, very close in life as well. They let Elmhay go to the National Trust after the war. Susie

Hi Wendy
My name is Peter Bernard Thompson and my grand father was Horatio (Bert) Thompson and he married Bridget Elizabeth Star, and my Great Great Grandfather was William Thomas Star and he married Susan McTague (my spelling is McTeague). It looks like we are related. We were in England and passed through Draycott in October 2017, knowing that my great grandfather came form there. We would love to correspond with you also.
Regards Peter

Does anyone know anything about the Star family that lived at Draycott on the farm "Elmhay"?  They were also connected to the "Bull" family by marriage.  As far as I know the Star family lived in Draycott for at least 200 years till the 1960s.
