My Great Grandmother Sarah Ann Gill left for the US in 1890 - Gill was her maiden name - I believe they took thier youngest son  James but left a son who I believe was named William behind. Sarah Ann Chapman nee' Gill died in New York in 1912

I am trying to find out when Kate and Emily died. Kate moved to Kewstoke and died in the 50,s I believe. Emily was married to George Gill in 1890 and lived in MIlton.

Have you tried looking for the deaths on FreeBMD?

From our Cemetery Records there is a burial of a Kate GILL (wife of a Norman Francis GILL) who died 28th April 1955 aged 77 in Milton Road Cemetery - Is that who you are looking for?

Where did Emily HACKER marry George GILL in 1890?   I can't see that marriage on FreeBMD.

Correction to our Cemetery Records, according to the burial register Kate GILL was burried 7th March 1955 aged 76. Place of Death was given as 66 Clifton Road WsM. Her husband Norman a retired station master was buried 3rd May 1955 aged 77.

Thanks Graham, my mistake - it was her husband, Norman GILL, who died on the 28th April 1955, my apologies.

I have these people in my tree. They are quite distantly related. My research has therefore been somewhat superficial and probably needs to be verified. But I believe it to be correct.

Emily Jane HACKER was baptised in Wrington on 12 October 1862. Her father was Sylvester HACKER. She married William PAYNE in 1884 but he died a year later. She then married George GILL in 1890. Both were widows. She gave her name as Emily Jane PAYNE and her father's name was recorded as Sylvester PAYNE. Emily died on 6 June 1946.

Emily and George GILL'S daughter Kate GILL was born in 1898. I believe she married Herbert W POPLE in 1920 and died in Weston in 1971.
