Emily BEESE & Salvation Army in Weston published by Pat Hase on Tue, 07/08/2012 - 22:08
Has anyone have any information about the Salvation Army in Weston-super-Mare? This photograph was found in the family papers of Emily Ada BEESE who died in Weston-super-Mare in 1929 but it is not known if the people were members of the BEESE family or not. Family Stories say she was a matron of a hospital in Weston. As has been discussed in recent messages Emily died at 5 Alice Maud Place, Weston-super-Mare. Alice Maud Cottages were in Oxford Street between Gloucester Street and St James Street - were these the same as Alice Maud Place?
In a street directory for 1922/3 it lists the Salvation Army premises in Carlton Street and names the Commandant as J CROXON.
Can anyone suggest further routes for research for Sandra Lee who posed the original question? If you wish to contact Sandra she can be emailed here or you can post your suggestions by replying to this message so that others can see your answer.
