Burial of Christina Lace published by on Thu, 30/06/2016 - 20:54
Pat, I read with interest your excellent account of your own recent research; how thoroughly hard you must have worked on this. I must read it again before I visit Weston soon.
Just wondering if it would be possible to obtain the grave number in Milton Road Cemetery for Christina Lace? Hoping to get to Weston during this month. Thanks, and all the best, Jasmine.
I fully agree with your comments, Jasmine, relating to Pat's recently published research - I too found it extremely interesting.
Last week I was able to make the journey to Weston to explore the area and obtained copies of relevant entries on the 1839 tithe map from Weston Library from very helpful staff, and also took photos of the areas where my husband's Jakeway family originated.
I found a useful book, Weston-super-Mare in watercolours, by Rosie and Howard Smith, beautifully illustrated with lots of information about Weston's history - particularly helpful to those of us who are strangers to the town.
I only recently joined W-s-M FHS and have been very impressed by the amount of help and advice provided.
Thank you very much indeed, Graham, for sending the grave reference number for Christina Lace; I really am most grateful, and look forward to my visit before long. Her grave is very near to great grand father on the other side of the family, a strange coincidence. I've learnt so much since having my Society membership. Thanks again and to Pat.
