Good Evening all
I am currently researching Jane Mockridge who was born in Compton Martin, Somerset, in around 1804- 1809
She appears in the 1881 Census in the Prison in Dorchester as an Inmate, stating age at 76 and listed as a Field Labourer.
I am unable to find her on any other census, I thought i might be lucky, so joined this group but although there are Mockridges on the baptism listing, she is not there.
I am researching her for the Few Forgotten Women website, so i can write her story, but am rather lost, as i do not know the area well. Could she have been baptised at another church?
i found a death record that could be hers, and have ordered a certificate from the GRO, it shows that 'she' died in Bridgwater, Somerset.
Any advise would be appreciated
Kind regards
