Tutt/ Battle/ Vickary

Hi,

I live in Brisbane Australia, and am descended from William Tutt (b.1816 Nth somerset, son of Richard Tutt and Mary nee Vickary) and his wife Sarah nee Battle ( b 1816. Nth SOmerset, daughter of Arthur Battle) , who were married in Winscombe in Axbridge, and lived in Banwell/Puxton in 1841. They are my Gt Gt Gt Grandparents. They had 2 children Elizabeth (b 1840 in Winscombe) and Jane (b. 1842 in WInscombe). I am descended through Elizabeth. They emigrated to Australia in 1844 aboard the William Metcalfe, and had 5 more children in Sydney. They joined William's older brother James Tutt in Sydney who was transported as a convict in 1838.

I am looking for more information about the ancestry of these two ie the Tutt/ Vickary or Battle lines.

Any information would be appreciated. My email address is rbaspinall@gmail.com

thanks

Ben Aspinall

Our transcriptions of parish records which are available online (for a very modest annual membership fee!) give the christening of William TUTT in Winscombe and the christening of his children in Puxton - William & Sarah actually had three children but one died and was buried there - also in our transcripts.

I have also replied directly to you with some other information.

Pat
