Hugh Camplin PARSLEY married Emily ESCOTT in Christon in 1838 and they had two children christened in Christon in 1839 and 1841 before his death in November 1841, aged only 25. Emily married again in 1845 in Weston to John KIRKBRIDE and had another family. But I can't find what happened to her PARSLEY children until Harriet Emily PARSLEY, her daughter married in 1866 in Compton Bishop with the marriage witnessed by John & Emily KIRKBRIDE. Can anyone find them?
Hi Pat, I hope you are well. Is their son called Hugh? If so, there is a Hugh Parsley buried in the parish of Yatton on 8 August 1898, aged 60. He was recorded as living at the workhouse in Long Ashton. He appears on the 1861 census as an agricultural labourer. Lastly, I think Harriet Emily marries again on 14 July 1887 to Henry Dibble. She died on 13 June 1928 and is buried at Saint Peter and St. Paul Churchyard, Bleadon.
Members who watched the talk on Clara's Cottage may recognise the name John KIRKBRIDE as at one time he owned plots of land in Burlington Street and it was while researching this that I was stumped by not being able to find reference to his wife's children by her previous marriage. You can see how easy it is to get side-tracked away from the primary purpose of your research! Did you find any sign of the daughter, Harriet, before her marriage in 1866? Yes, the son was called Hugh and he appears to have been born in Newport, Mons. I think the one who died in Yatton might have been born in Kenn in 1837. Thanks for your suggestions - I hadn't picked up Harriet's second marriage.

Ah okay on Hugh - I didn't know that. I can see there is a Harriet Parsley listed on the 1851 census as a pupil at a private school somewhere in Westbury-on-Trym. Transcribed as born at Christon - so that might fit. The school is possibly Shirehampton Ladies' School that was run by Harriet Snelling and Ellen Dixon (also listed in the same census record).
I'm sure that you are right with this Harriet PARSLEY - thank you. It would make sense for her to be sent away to school with a new step-father about. I expect Hugh was at a school somewhere as well.
