I think you probably mean 96 Moorland Road - that's the present day Hairdresser. This road has a fascinating history and deserves some research into it. Who has family connections with Moorland Road?
I know that Agnes Ritchie, the last of my great-great aunts from Maycot at 12 Beaufort Road (see RITCHIE), died at 65 Moorland Road in 1960. I don't know why she was there, possibly it was a nursing home? Her three sisters had all died at Maycot, but presumably Maycot had been sold by then.
Well, here's a surprise!. One of our members, Dave Tyler has been looking at Moorland Road and has found a connection between Charles William BAKER and our late life-member Stan BAKER who was his son and is with him on the 1939 Register. Charles William BAKER died in 1962 at 65 Moorland Road, so was living there when your relation died.
