This photo was taken on April 23rd, 1938 after the wedding at Emmanuel Church, Weston-super-Mare of Sydney Arthur SMART (known as Jack) and Louisa Evelyn WATKINS. The reception, where this photo was taken was held above the Co-op on the corner of Whitecross Road and Severn Road. The bride was wearing a pale blue dress and the bridesmaids were in Ivory with hats to match.
Their daughter, society member, Ann CURRY, can name all in the photograph but is curious to know whether anyone else knows anything about the family.

There are several graves in Milton Road Cemetery for members of these families. If anyone is researching them please let us know so that Ann can continue her research. She is particularly interested in her mother’s family – the WATKINS. The birth of Louisa Evelyn WATKINS, Ann’s mother, was registered in Bedwelty in 1917, her parents being Alfred Augustus WATKINS and Annie BAKER who were married there in 1900. Thank you |
