I am trying to research my grandmothers occupation and from conversations with my family I understand she worked for R J Drapers who had a factory in Clevedon. I've been trying to research online but even their own website doesn't mention the factory except to say the facilities were taken over by the company in the 1950s.
Does anyone know of the address or is anyone able to point me in the right direction for my research. I would like to get a bit more information about my grandmothers time with the company. Would it be acceptable to email the company to see if they hold any records about her time with them?
I hadn't realised that this Glastonbury firm had connections with Clevedon but in a booklet published by the Clevedon Civic Society entitled "CLEVEDON’S Social and Industrial Heritage" there is a chapter devoted to Mr Boddington's Boot Factory which I am told may refer to the DRAPER factory which might have been in Strode Road. I don't have a copy of this booklet but it might be worth following up.
