Dear Pat,
Thank you very much for the details that you have on George BROWN and where to find further information. I have only just discovered that Charles BROWN, George's son came from Weston area, specifically Hewish. So I have not sent for any certificates yet.
Sarah BROWN, Charles' mother, died at Hewish and is buried at Yatton in Oct 1816 and Charles was christened in May 1816. Two daughters were christened at Congresbury, both named Sarah. The first Sarah was christened in 1803 I presume that this Sarah died, but have not found a burial for her yet. The second Sarah d/o George & Sarah Brown of Hewish was christened in 1814 she may have married and George Brown, her father, could be living with her family in 1841 or George could have married for a third time and be his third wife.
So far I have not found George Brown born 1774 in Banwell on the 1841 Census. I do know that George Brown senior was not with his sons, George and Charles Brown in Wales in 1841, nor with one of his other son Silvester Brown, christened 1807 Congresbury. Silvester was living with his first wife and children in Vincenda Cottage, Weston-super-Mare. The other son Mark Brown christened 1810 Congresbury, so far I have not been able to trace him at all.
Many thanks for you help Pat.
