Trying to find out any information - He was born aug 1910 and died in Weston 1978. Was maried more than once , the first time to constance heal for approx 4-5 years . Would love to find any info .
From FreeBMD you can see that he married Constance HEAL in the Registration District of Blyth in the Sept Quarter of 1937. She gained a divorce in May 1948 - so the marriage lasted a little longer than you thought. (in The Western Daily Press of 28th May 1848 - British Newspaper Archives) - Her address is given as Huntspill, Highbridge. It seems likely that she remained in the area.
Although he died in Weston in 1978 he does not appear in the 1974 Directory as a householder perhaps the place of his death on the certificate or the informant may give you a clue for further research. There is a possibility that there might be an entry in a local newspaper at the time of his death. Weston Newspapers are in Weston Library. See here for details and an email address to contact the library with any queries.
The London Gazette has a record in its edition of the 5th Nov 1948 that he was promoted to 2nd Lt for working with the Army Cadet Force see here for the actual entry.
As you no doubt know there are several more marriages for a James B COCKBURN on FreeBMD after 1948 but they may not all be the same man. Do you know the names of the other wives?
Many thanks for all your work have passed it on to friend . Its her grandad and he was possibly adopted to we are trying to find out more - will keep you posted - thanks again babs
