Looking for the Rev. Charles Robert Evors
published by on Wed, 31/10/2012 - 23:27

I'm hoping to come and search for the grave of my 2x great grandfather, Charles Robert Evors, who was living at 2 coronation road in 1911 and I think in 1901. The house was called The Whitneys in 1911. He died there in December 1915. I would be so grateful  to have any information at all; I haven't had time to search burial records yet. Does the name ring any bells?

Please find below details from the WsM Burial Register. Please not that the surname was recorded as Ivors and not Evors.

Entry No 11861, Charles Robert Ivors, Clerk in Holy Order, Aged 90 years. Place of death The Whitneys, Grove Park Road, WsM. Date of burial 28 Dec 1915. Ceremony performed by Herbert Wolstenholme. Grave No 4602.

Sorry, I just replied in the wrong box I think.  Again I am profoundly grateful for the information you have given me; was it in the main town cemetery?  Thank you so much, and I'm much encouraged in my research.

I am profoundly grateful Graham, for this info. Was this in the main cemetery?  All part of a long saga; in the spring I hope to get to Weston, and before that I might contact you again. Thank you so much.

Jasmine the grave is in WsM Milton Road cemetery plot Tc. There appears to be no memorial inscription.

Thank you very much Graham; your help will have probably saved me months of research.  I have his death certificate with a different address of the death, i.e. his home, 2 Coronation Rd., which is strange, and also odd about the spelling  Ivors. Definitely him though. I hope to visit in 2013 on a Saturday when there are members in the Library, meanwhile thanks again!
