Locking Road School 1936

Attached (at the foot of the page) is a photograph - taken, we think, in 1936 - of the Locking Road School class that my mother was in. Her name was Thelma PARKER and she has asked me to post this. Although she was 90 a few months ago, she can recall the names of most of the children. Obviously I can't name them on here in case they are still alive - hopefully many of them are. Mum would be interested to know if anyone can identify themself or a parent/grandparent?

Mum is sitting at the very front, third from the left, with the black hair.

This is a great photograph - as it doesn't seem to have produced any response from our members perhaps you would like to put it on our Facebook Group to see if anyone on that recognises a face. Without giving the full names, are there any obviously local surnames which could be mentioned to jog memories?.

Thanks, Pat. That's a great idea. Unfortunately I have had to close my Facebook account because of security issues. But I'm happy for you to post it on my behalf if you're willing to do it? Surnames that can be recalled include: SEDGEBEER, DAY, MILLARD, PARKER, BOLTON, HILLIER, WEAVER, HERMAN, FARR, LOCK, RYDE, STURCH, HEWLETT, MADGE, ROSCOE, MARTIN, OWENS, COLLARD.
