Samuel NICHOLS married Wedmore 1798

The above named Samuel NICHOLS or NICHOLLS is my husband's 3 x great grandfather and he married Rebecca DYER at St Mary's Church Wedmore on the 26th April 1798. I think he died in 1843, aged 68; his wife Rebecca having died just a month earlier, aged 73. But who were Samuel's parents? I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Hi Pat. I've looked at this 4 times now and drawn a complete blank on Samuel NICHOLLS (and all the variants I could think of), I'm afraid.

What do you know of Rebecca DYER though? I ask because I have a Rebecca DYER in my tree. Not the same one. Mine was baptised as Rebecca DIER in Banwell on 11 January 1722 the daughter of John DIER and Rebecca GUY.

Thank you Dave - at least it's not only me who can't find his parents!
I do have a possible christening for my Rebecca DYER on the 23th Sept 1769 at Wedmore Church, d/o John DYER. I am assuming that this might be the John & Frances DYER who had previously had children christed at Wedmore. It is possible that Frances might be Frances SHARTMAN - christened at Wedmore in 1734/5 d/o John & Frances SHARTMAN - This is based on the christening in 1768 of a Jacob SHARTMAN DYER s/o John DYER but I can't find a DYER/SHARTMAN marriage. All very speculative!
