Trying to locate Stonebridge, Clevedon

I'm trying to find the location of Stonebridge in Clevedon. The address given on a 1920 birth certificate is '24 Stone Bridge, Clevedon'.

There is currently a street called Stonebridge, near Tutton Way, but this seems to be a new (1960s/70s) development. I have consulted a 1903 map of Clevedon and do not see such a street indicated in that area. The UK Land Registry say they have no information for 'Stonebridge' prior to 1979.

I found a reference to 'No. 3 Stonebridge Cottages, Clevedon' in documents related to property purchase in 1877, so perhaps the address I'm looking for should be 'Stonebridge Cottages'.

Does anyone know how I can pinpoint the location of Stonebridge Cottages or of a street called Stone bridge in 1920s Clevedon? I tried Somerset Archives, but they couldn't find it.

There are 5 Stonebridge Cottages in Old Street Clevedon on the 1881 census. If you could give us the name of the people involved it might be easier to help.

In 1920 Edith Boys (nÃ©e Edbrooke) gave birth to a baby girl at 24 Stone bridge (according to the birth certificate). She had left her husband around November 1919, so this was not the family home. I'm trying to find out who owned this house, and what their relationship with Edith was (if any - perhaps she just rented it from someone. I have no idea). The baby's father was Joseph Johns, but I know nothing else about him. He's actually the person I'm trying to find through this research. According to the baptism record, the baby's godmother was Louisa Sprod, of Clevedon. Perhaps it was her house.
I'd be very interested to know if any of these names turn up in connection with the cottages.

It seems that John was probably correct with his suggestion of 24 Tickenham Road. I have been in contact with a local historian in Clevedon who says that the cottages on Old Street are "on the Tickenham Road, the houses set back by Clevedon Garages. They seem to have counted it as part of the Tickenham Road in the directories"

If you look at Google Street View you can see that the old house to the right of the garage has several "front doors" on various sides and was probably several cottages originally.

None of the names you mention are at the address in 1911 or 1939. A Hannah Louisa SPROD can be found in Clevedon living in Hill Road in 1911 and 1939. She was unmarried. Not sure whether that helps!

Thank you for this and the link to the Google Street View - it's interesting information.
I'll see if I can find out any more about Lousia Sprod. As she was my aunt's godmother, she must have been a friend of my grandmother's.
I'd hoped that Joseph Johns's name would turn up in connection with the cottage, but he is turning out to be very elusive!

Was there a Catholic connection with your family?

Yesterday we had some spare time at Weston Library (more helpers than people coming in with queries) and Andrew Crossley, one of our volunteers, found a Miss Louisa SPROD living at 38 Hill Road, Clevedon in the Kelly's directory of 1939. Her address was given as The Catholic Repository, 38 Hill Road. On the 1939 Register she was listed as Hannah L SPROD with "Sale of Religious articles" (rather difficult to read). as her occupation.

Also in 1939 there was an Edith BOYS born 16 Jan 1920 living at a St Joseph's Home, The Croft, Sudbury, Suffolk - which I think mught be connected with the Catholic Church. Is this just a coincidence?
