Accidental Gas poisoned great grandfather

My great grandfather Henry Lynn and his wife Adelaide Lynn were on holiday at Weston-Super-Mare in 1951 they sadly died a couple of days later in hospital, it says on death cert that there was an inquest and a gas tap was accidentally left on? Would there be a chance to obtain the report? Also wondered if it appeared in a local news paper? Any help would be appreciated

As you suggest, it is possible that an account of the inquest might have been published in a local newspaper. If you contact the Local Studies Section of Weston-super-Mare Library they may be able to help you. The local newspapers are available there on film - They are not indexed but as you can give them an actual date of death the search should not be too difficult.

It is also possible that an account might have been published in a newspaper local to where they were living - have you tried looking there?
