James MILLARD and Jane PARFREY

Following the success in finding where William HASE actually lived and probably worked (See January Update) - I’ve been looking again at his family and attempting to break down a few long standing brickwalls and I need some help!

William HASE married Rebecca MILLARD in St James Bristol in Feb 1819 (one of the witnesses being a James MILLARD who signed his name) and I’ve been trying to find out more about her.

A Rebecca Parfray[sic] MILLARD was christened in the 17th Dec 1801 at Compton Bishop Parish Church the daughter of James & Jane MILLARD who had been married in 1787 in Axbridge Parish Church as James MILLARD and Jane PARFREY and went on to have 9 children. But who were James and Jane?

Jane MILLARD née PARFREY was buried 29th July 1809 Compton Bishop
James MILLARD married again to Elizabeth SEGAR 19th Sept 1832 Compton Bishop
James MILLARD died 12 Dec 1845 informant was Rebecca CAPLE (who I believe was born Rebecca SELWOOD, married William CAPLE and named her first child Ann Parfrey CAPLE)

A simple question - Who were the parents of James MILLARD and Jane PARFREY? I’m now getting bogged down with MILLARD, SELWOOD, PARFREY, and CAPLE not to mention their variants – I need rescuing!!

Having posted the above I've just realised that 4 years ago I posted an almost identical request which resulted in no comments at all - so I'm not holding my breath!!

However there are some corrections to my original posting - further research (if correct) has unearthed the information that when John SELWOOD married Ann PARFREY in 1786 at St John's Bedminster he was marrying the daughter of Grace (his first wife) by her first marriage to William PARFERY - are you all still with me?!

15 Feb 1765 Betty d/o William & Betty PARFERY christened at Weare
16 Dec 1765 Betty PERFARY wife of William of Wear[sic] buried at Dunkerton (FreeREG)
11 Sept 1766 William PARFERY, widower, marries Grace PRICE or PRINCE at Weare
13 Aug 1780 William PARFERY buried at Compton Bishop
3 Oct 1781 John SELWOOD married Grace PARFERY (widow of William?) at Compton Bishop

Help!!
