George RADFORD marriage
published by on Tue, 03/06/2014 - 23:04

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with my search for the marriage of George RADFORD (1805 - 1876)?

I believe George was baptised in Puxton in 1805.  He married Sarah and had at least 8 children.  The children were all baptised between 1831 and 1848 in Kewstoke.  The 1841, 1851 & 1861 census show George and Sarah living in Kewstoke (George was an agricultural labourer).  George was buried in 1876 in Kewstoke.

I cannot find a surname for Sarah but believe she is from Congresbury, born 1805ish.  She died in 1868 and is buried in Kewstoke.

I have searched for their marriage in the transcripts for Kewstoke, Puxton, Congresbury, St. John's WSM, Banwell, Worle, Uphill & Hutton with no luck.  Could you suggest where else I might find marriage information?

thank you

It's always a good idea to check Bristol for marriages of residents from north Somerset.  There is a marriage on the 26th June 1826 at St Mary Redcliffe of a George RADFORD and a Sarah NEWTON.  This was taken from the transcripts available on CD from the Bristol & Avon FHS and which can also be consulted in Weston Library. The original is in Bristol Record Office.

In our transcriptions of Congresbury there is a possible christening of a Sarah NEWTON in 1804.
