I am looking for anyone who may be related to Ellen Fear born 1879.
She was a resident in the Axbridge workhouse with her mother Sarah and two sisters. According to the 1891 census she worked at Dunhelm farm Lympsham. in later censuses she has three sons but have never married.

She married my grandfather in 1906 and they moved to Pontypridd.
she died in 1912 in Pontypridd.

I'm not related to Ellen FEAR but I have come across her and her family during my research into Axbridge Workhouse.

Sarah, her mother, was born in  the Workhouse in 1844, the d/o Elizabeth FEAR, (daughter of James & Sarah FEAR of Lympsham). Elizabeth also had two sons who were born in the Workhouse but she never married.

Sarah didn't marry either and had 5 children - all I think born in the Workhouse - 2 boys and the 3 girls, (Alice, Elizabeth & Ellen) who were with her in 1881. Of the girls, Alice had a daughter, Lucy,  in the Workhouse in 1890 and I've found two sons for Ellen also born in the Workhouse, Harold George in 1895 and Lionel Cecil (later refered to as Cecil) in 1897 - they were both with her in the Workhouse in 1901.   Who was the third son and what happened to them after Ellen married?

Members of the FEAR family of Lympsham were to be found in the Workhouse on numerous ocassions but they survived! I'm not sure how much you already know but I can give you the actual dates for the christenings in the Workhouse for most of the children.

Thank you Pat for you reply. I have seen the info relating to the Workhouse census. The third son was Wilfred Fear born in 1903.My Grandfather married Ellen in 1906 and moved to Pontypridd. l know Harold and Wilfred also went at some point but l`m not sure when. I can find no mention of Wilfred living with his mother and my Grandfather on the Pontypridd 1911 census. I have also searched the 1911 census for Axbridge area in case he was living with a relative.
My Grandfather was very fond of Wilfred and supported him until he became an adult. We often visited Wilfred and his family when we were children.
I can find no mention of Lionel after 1901.

Both brothers lived and brought up families in Pontypridd until their deaths.
Any info you might have would be great
