ANNE REYNOLDS HANHAM AND CHARLES EDWARD HANHAM
published by on Sun, 20/01/2013 - 15:24

I am trying to find the burial places of my great aunt Anne Reynolds Hanham and her husband Charles Edward Hanham.  Charles died on 15th July 1945 in Weston and his wife died on 2 July 1969 in Weston.

I would be interested in any information about the Hanhams (I believe he came from Norton Fitzwarren, then the family lived in Edington before he moved to Weston super Mare.)

Unfortunately this doesn't answer your question about where they were buried but it does give some additional information such as addresses.  Dave Tyler also found this for you

Weston Mercury July 21th 1945

HANHAM, Charles Edward died July 15th aged 70, dearly loved husband of Annie Hanham, 4 Windsor Terrace, Baytree Road, Weston-super-Mare

and

Weston Mercury July 4th 1969

HANHAM, Annie Reynolds (late of Baytree Road) passed peacefully away in a nursing home on July 2nd, aged 96 years. Fondly remembered by all he nieces and nephews

I would think that both of the HANHAMs were probably cremated at Arnos Vale.

The local newspapers, which are not online, are a fantastic resource for family history, especially, as in this case, when an actual date is known.  Not being indexed, a blanket search can take a very long time because you have to be aware that you will always find something of interest even if it is only an advertisement!

Thank you very much for looking through the newspaper for me, and sincere apologies for taking so long to pick up on it.
I have tried Arnos Vale, but no luck there. Such a pity the notice does not mention the burial service. All will become clear one day.
